Migrating Notes with the OnePlus Clone Phone App

If you’re switching to a new OnePlus phone and want to bring your notes across, the Clone Phone app can do it — but the option isn’t immediately obvious.

Notes aren’t listed at the top level of what gets cloned. Instead, they’re tucked away under Settings within the Clone Phone app.

How to Do It

  1. Open the Clone Phone app on both your old and new OnePlus device.
  2. Follow the on-screen steps to connect the two phones.
  3. When you reach the screen where you choose what to transfer, look for Settings in the list.
  4. Expand Settings and ensure that either:
    • All of Settings is checked, or
    • Settings > Notes is specifically checked.
  5. Proceed with the clone and your notes will be transferred across.

Why This Isn’t Obvious

Most people expect Notes to appear as a standalone item in the list of things to clone — alongside contacts, photos, and apps. Because Notes are stored as part of the Settings data, they’re easy to overlook, and you may end up on your new phone wondering where all your notes went.

Checking the Settings section (or the Notes sub-item within it) ensures everything comes across cleanly.
